The Science & Technology Hall has designated four areas where you can meet with exhibitors with products and services focused on lifestyle, public service, research and technology, and leisure.

  • Retail Row: Visit these exhibitors to shop for a variety of leisure products.

Member Activity

Location: Throughout the Science & Technology Hall
Participate in the Member Activity to win big. Pick up your Member Activity card at HeartQuarters or from a publication bin near the Science & Technology Hall entrances. Then visit eight of the exhibitors noted on the card, obtain a stamp from each exhibitor and then return the completed card to HeartQuarters, Booth 1052, for your opportunity to win.

AHA will draw two winners each day, one for a complimentary one-year premium Professional Membership and one for a complimentary registration for AHA Scientific Sessions 2017 in Anaheim, California. Each participant turning in a completed card will receive a 10-percent discount coupon to use at Shop Heart, AHA’s official store.

Hands-Only CPR Training

Location: Booth 1129
Most people who experience cardiac arrest at home, at work or in a public location die because they don’t receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. The American Heart Association is teaching people how to provide hands-only CPR training that can more than double a person’s chance of survival. Learn how the AHA is training bystanders the simple steps of saving a life during cardiac arrest.

Shop Heart

Location: Attendee Central, Hall D, Level 1
Pick up a little something to take home at Shop Heart, the official store of the American Heart Association. The store offers a variety of apparel, accessories, jewelry and more. Plus, if you forget to pack red clothing for Wear Red Day on Monday, Nov. 14, stop by Shop Heart to peruse your options.

Wear Red Day raises awareness that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women. This small show of support will connect you with colleagues and patients nationwide who share your commitment to prevent heart disease.

Community Central

Be sure to visit Community Central, the new home for the networking lounges, where you can take part in the:

Interventional Central

This home base for interventionalists allows you to gather, network, relax and take in educational programming through the global game show, challenging cases and career development.

HealthTech Competition and Pavilion

Location: HealthTech Competition: Booth 1103; Health Tech Pavilion: Booth 1219
Back for its third year, the HealthTech Competition pits companies against one another to win top honors. Seven medical technology startups will demonstrate their innovations before a panel of distinguished cardiologists, venture capitalists and industry thought leaders. Participants and products include:

  • Arthur Health (medication adherence system)
  • CareAcademy (online resource for caregivers
  • Cloud DX (remote patient monitoring)
  • Cor (blood-testing)
  • Twiage (communication app)
  • Welbean (learning app)
  • Wellth (patient monitoring platform)

Watch their presentations, taking place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14, and see who wins.

There will be two awards: the Judge’s Choice and Audience Favorite. They will be presented based on how well a product addresses the needs of patients and providers and its potential to improve patient outcomes. Want to post on social media about the competition? Use #AHA16.

Meet the Trialists

Connect with select researchers who will provide answers and thoughtful insights about Late-Breaking Clinical Trials in engaging sessions. Complement your learning and get your questions answered in this casual setting.

Simulation Zone

Location: Booth 1103
Test your knowledge, skills and critical thinking in AHA’s interactive Simulation Zone, featuring Body Interact, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement and Vimedix. Visit these simulations during scheduled sessions or drop by at your convenience to experience the devices on your own.

Body Interact is a screen-based 3-D, immersive training platform that offers dynamic monitoring, dialoguing, diagnostic testing, imaging, drugs, intervention options and performance debriefing.

The Mechanical Circulatory Support area provides a hands-on opportunity to model adult and pediatric critical scenarios and observe hemodynamic consequences of conditions such as heart failure, shock and device obstruction.

NEW! Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) will provide simulation of the TAVR procedure and consist of cases with anatomical variations. It will allow for the performance of the procedure using different approaches and will include all of the procedural steps required for accurately positioning and deploying a transcatheter aortic valve. During this session, there also will be opportunities to practice complication scenarios associated with TAVR.

NEW! Vimedix is a scientifically validated ultrasound training platform that supports transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. 3-D augmented reality displays show anatomy, organs and surrounding structures in real time, allowing viewing of normal and complex pathology.

Reconnect and relax in the Charging Lounge, where you can catch up on email, touch base with family and colleagues, and charge your laptop or mobile devices.
