Exploring Frontiers in Science

Four Frontiers in Science Summits were held as part of AHA Scientific Sessions 2017. Each one-day event covered the latest, cutting-edge research in four specific fields and provided ample networking opportunities.

The Arrhythmia Research Summit, held on Monday, Nov. 13, offered focused programming for clinicians, basic scientists, biomedical engineers and outcomes experts. Attendees participated in rapid-fire presentations that addressed research and therapeutic innovation in the area of arrhythmia mechanisms, diagnosis and management.

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, leading stem cell researchers shared their insights at the Stem Cells Summit. The program covered key questions in the area of stem cell research and provided attendees the opportunity to engage in lively discussions.

Clinicians and researchers explored the latest updates in thrombosis research at the Thrombosis Summit, held on Monday, Nov. 13. Bridging basic to clinical science, the summit’s presentations covered a variety of topics from arterial and venous thrombosis to pulmonary embolism and the latest on emerging therapies and new anticoagulant drugs.

The Vascular Disease Summit, held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, brought together investigators leading the way in the “frontier science” of PVD. These experts shared their findings and proven methodologies that may be applied across specialty areas.

Note: These summits are not included in Sessions OnDemand™ as they were not recorded due to the pre-publication research that was presented.
